How to donate orphanage in Ukraine?

Today, in Ukraine, most children live in happy, healthy homes where they are loved and supported by their parents and family. However, in all these cities there are a minority of orphaned children who have neither parents nor family and live in very difficult circumstances and experience many hardships. Sometimes an orphan loses their parents at an early age; others when they have reached their teenage years. Many of these children are emotionally traumatized and live in very challenging conditions. It is often the case that even though many orphans still have a living parent, typically their mother, they live far away from each other because the mother recognizes that she is incapable of bringing up the child. Sadly they lack the means to grow, educate, feed and clothe their children. As a result, many moms bring them to the orphanage or simply abandon them.

For any child, arriving at an orphanage is certainly one of the most terrifying events in their young life. To live, to grow and develop in an orphanage is a real challenge and orphans know that they differ from other children who have parents. They understand they are deprived of the love, care and attention that every child craves from their parents. A child who is placed in the orphanage, lives in constant fear. They are very often unhappy with themselves and those around them. Orphans often see little purpose in their lives, they are often depressed, and as a result, they can become socially aggressive. Orphans who were separated from their mother and brought to an orphanage, has trouble developing personal social skills. As much as orphanage staff and teachers support the children, the orphanage will never be like a real home; and will always lacks a mother’s love and care that a child craves.

In any orphanage, a child will always be surrounded with similar orphans and caregivers who are responsible for him. Often this environment can generate a real sense of insecurity, creating feelings of helplessness. Their life can be very depressing which can slow down mental development and even effect their immune system.  Children who are brought up in orphanages are often unable to control their emotions and their self-esteem is very low. Even though, life at an orphanage can cause aggressive and unsociable behaviors, paradoxically the orphans remain vulnerable, insecure and self-protective.
